A rare sea turtle was sighted off Co To Island of Quang Ninh Province in northern Vietnam on Monday. Nguyen Hai Linh, head of the tourism and culture-information division in Co To District, said that this was the first time a sea turtle had been spotted in more than 10 years. Over a decade ago, the district released a 125-kilogram turtle into the ocean, Linh added. In late 2022, a dolphin was spotted in the waters off Co To Island, near Co To Port. “Sea turtles often seek clean sandbanks to lay eggs during their nesting season,” Linh said.
