Torrential rains caused floods and landslides in Lai Chau, a mountainous province in northern Vietnam, between Friday and Sunday, killing four people and injuring three others. A 56-year-old man and two siblings in the commune were wounded by floods and landslides. Land subsidence sank a 40-meter section of Provincial Road 129, while landslides occurred on many other roads in the province. Authorities in Lai Chau Province gave condolences to the deceased’s families and offered financial support to the affected households, said Loi.
