European businesses operating in Vietnam are displaying resilience, evident in the Business Confidence Index (BCI) released by the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) on Monday. The index reached 46.3 in the fourth quarter of 2023, indicating an increase from the preceding quarter's level of 45.1. However, it is vital to highlight that the BCI has remained below the midpoint since the fourth quarter of 2022. “The European business community is increasingly optimistic that the most challenging economic period is now behind us." In particular, firms confident in their current situation rose from 24 percent in the third quarter to 32 percent in the fourth quarter.
