My Thuy International Port Joint Venture Company (MTIP) has been told to recommence work on the My Thuy deep water seaport project in Hai Lang District, Quang Tri Province, north-central Vietnam on February 26 this year after four years of suspension. Vo Van Hung, chairman of Quang Tri, asked the project developer MTIP and relevant agencies to urgently complete site clearance and other procedures to restart the project, the provincial administration’s office said on Sunday. Three spots covering 58.4 hectares were suggested but had yet to meet the demand, according to the Quang Tri Economic Zone Management Authority. The MTIP held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project on February 27, 2020 but difficulties linked to investment procedures then halted the construction.
