VND25 trillion worth of corporate bonds issued in August

In the first eight months of 2023, corporate bond issues reached over VND132.3 trillion. During this period, enterprises redeemed over VND164.8 trillion worth of corporate bonds prior to maturity, increasing by 34% against the same period last year. Of the total redeemed bonds, the banking sector accounted for 46.7%, equivalent to VND76.9 trillion. The total value of extended corporate bonds exceeded VND58.8 trillion. In contrast, 67 businesses faced delays in paying interest or principal on their corporate bonds, resulting in total outstanding debt of around VND173.6 trillion.
