Of the three auctioned ships, a 50-meter-long iron vessel was sold at VND1.3 billion (US$53.2 million). The two other wooden ships were also successfully auctioned off but at relatively low prices. The Quang Tri Maritime Administration is completing procedures for the auction of another 18-meter-long iron vessel and the other wooden ship. Most of the ships aground on the coast in Quang Tri are broken and believed to be of foreign origin. Most recently, a vessel 15 meters long, six meters wide, and six meters high drifted inshore in Trieu Phong District, Quang Tri Province on Sunday last week.
