The People’s Committee of Phu Yen Province in south-central Vietnam has written to the Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises proposing the construction of the T2 domestic passenger terminal at Tuy Hoa Airport, with a designed capacity of three million passengers per year. Tuy Hoa Airport has two runways, but one was shut due to severe deterioration. As per the national airport system development master plan approved by the prime minister for the 2021-30 period with a vision toward 2050, Tuy Hoa Airport in Phu Yen Province will have a capacity of nearly three million passengers a year in 2030. As such, the provincial administration proposed the commission assign the Airports Corporation of Vietnam to prioritize the capital set for investment in the 2021-25 period to pour into the T2 terminal at Tuy Hoa Airport. Tuy Hoa Airport can be widened from the current 697 hectares to nearly 1,000 hectares to perfect aviation infrastructure such as air logistics areas, and aircraft repair and maintenance facilities, said the Phu Yen Province People’s Committee.
