Vietnam wins gold at 1st World Taekwondo Demonstration Team Championships

The Vietnamese taekwondo team on Sunday bagged a gold medal in the preliminary round of the Freestyle poomsae, a style of attacking and defending, at the first World Taekwondo Demonstration Team Championships hosted by South Korea. Vietnam defeated the Italian team to take the gold in the preliminary round. The 2023 World Taekwondo Demonstration Team Championships is one of four events held at the 2023 Gangwon Chuncheon World Taekwondo Cultural Festival, taking place from August 18 to 24. The Vietnamese taekwondo team attended the festival with nine athletes: Chau Tuyet Van, Nguyen Thi Mong Quynh, Nguyen Thi Kim Ha, Tran Ho Duy, Tran Dang Khoa, Nguyen Ngoc Minh Hy, Hua Van Huy, Nguyen Thi Le Kim, and Nguyen Thanh Hien Linh. The 2023 World Taekwondo Demonstration Team Championships is a great opportunity for the Vietnamese team to hone its skills ahead of the 19th Asian games (ASIAD), set to take place in Hangzhou, China this September.
