Vietnam to host UN peacekeeping field training for first time

Co-chaired by Vietnam and Japan, the field training’s opening ceremony is scheduled for September 13. Nearly 200 peacekeeping experts and trainees from 18 ADMM+ countries, including 26 from Vietnam, will participate in the training. The course will comprise three phases encompassing theoretical and practical training, along with specific instruction for military medical personnel, engineers, and military observers. During a meeting with peacekeeping operation expert groups from Vietnam and Japan, Gen. Tan pledged Vietnam’s commitment to provide optimal conditions for the training and expressed eagerness to collaborate closely with the Japanese side in its organization.
