Vietnam will speed up the training of 50,000 engineers and experts to serve all stages of value chains in the semiconductor sector, Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said at a meeting held in Hanoi on Tuesday. This scheme entails a plan to train 50,000 semiconductor engineers, including 15,000 designers. By 2045, Vietnam is expected to become an important link in value chains of the semiconductor industry with engineers and experts capable of meeting the industry’s demand. NIC director Vu Quoc Huy said since September last year, the center and the Ministry of Planning and Investment had surveyed leading enterprises, research institutes, and universities in Vietnam to assess their semiconductor training and research capability. The center has also assessed the demand of international enterprises and training facilities which may invest in, cooperate with, and provide scholarships to Vietnam.
