Vietnam police bust Telegram sex ring involving over 15,000 members

Findings from police officers showed that Khoa led the Telegram-based prostitution ring and Viet served as the former’s accomplice. The duo created many pages and groups on Telegram to find female sex workers, post photos of the prostitutes to promote their service, which is illegal in Vietnam, and interact with potential clients. Khoa confessed that he had created many Telegram pages and groups to operate the prostitution brokerage racket since June 2021. They disclosed that they utilized their Telegram accounts to entice female sex workers into the network and advertise their services on the messaging platform daily. The law enforcement forces also unearthed more than 15,000 people joining a Telegram group in the racket, with over 30 female sex workers.
