HCMC – The Ministry of Transport (MOT) is urging local authorities to expedite work on the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway project, which has experienced significant delays due to slow site clearance efforts. In Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, authorities have completed 78% of the site clearance necessary for the construction of component section three. Additionally, it has warned that the escalating costs associated with the site clearance phase might necessitate a future investment reassessment. The initial phase of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway project costs an investment of nearly VND18,000 billion, financed through the national budget. The four-lane expressway is slated to be put into operation in 2026, with 34 kilometers running in Dong Nai Province and 19.7 kilometers in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.
