Tolls on four expressways set to rise next month

HCMC – The Vietnam Expressway Development Investment Corporation (VEC) has announced plans to adjust up tolls on four expressways under its management, starting next month. Tolls on Cau Gie – Ninh Binh and Danang – Quang Ngai expressways will rise by 12%, from VND1,500 to VND1,680 per kilometer. VEC said that tolls on the expressways which it is operating will be revised up by 12% every three years. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the scheduled expressway toll hikes have been suspended in recent years at the request of the prime minister. Since December 29, 2023, tolls on 41 build-operate-transfer (BOT) roads have edged up by 15% to 20%.
