The southern region of Vietnam is forecast to experience thunderstorms this Thursday, ending the heat wave, Le Thi Xuan Lan, a weather pundit based in southern Vietnam, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper. The hot weather will continue in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region as a whole on the first days of this week. Meanwhile, the Mekong Delta region reported a temperature ranging between 35.3 and 36.8 degrees Celsius. However, the ‘real-feel’ temperature was 0.5 to several degrees Celsius higher. Northern and central regions are predicted to suffer an extreme heat wave this summer, Lan added.
