Samsung eyes investment in rooftop solar power projects in Ho Chi Minh City

Samsung desires to cooperate with the Ho Chi Minh City administration to tap into the rooftop solar power industry, heard an investment promotion conference in the southern metropolis on Wednesday afternoon. A Samsung representative told the ‘Investment Conference for Ho Chi Minh City’s Green Growth’ that the firm is currently awaiting guidelines on legal procedures so that it can get a foot in the door. The representative also proposed the municipal administration remove obstacles standing in the way of the company's investment in solar power projects. Vo Van Hoan, vice-chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, suggested that Samsung invest in the coverage of rooftop solar panels for the entire Saigon Hi-Tech Park, where one of Samsung’s Vietnam factories is currently located.
