HCMC – Manufacturers and importers must recycle rubber tires and inner tubes, batteries, lubricant oils, and cartons as from January 1, 2024. The recycling requirements are applicable to manufacturers and importers with total revenue in the previous year exceeding VND30 billion and VND20 billion, respectively. Businesses are required to recycle waste and cartons proportionate to the total volumes of products launched onto the market or imported. Accordingly, the compulsory recycling rates are set at 5% for rubber tires and tubes, 8-12% for batteries, and 10-22% for cartons. According to the roadmap, the electrical and electronic sector will be required to recycle products starting from January 1, 2025.
