HCMC – Halong Bay, a UNESCO-listed World Heritage site in northern Vietnam, attracted more than 35,000 visitors during the New Year holiday, with 25,400 of them coming from abroad. From December 30 to January 1, Halong City and other parts of Quang Ninh Province reported a total of 170,000 visitors, a 60% year-on-year rise. Favorite attractions include Quang Ninh Museum, Sun World Park, and Cua Ong Temple. The majority of international visitors hailed from Vietnam’s key source markets for tourism, including China, South Korea, India, Japan and France. This surge followed a joint launching ceremony on November 29, 2023, aimed at promoting cross-border trade and tourism between Vietnam and China.
