More flights added for upcoming Lunar New Year holiday

HCMC – The Vietnam Airlines Group, comprising Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and VASCO, has recently announced to add more domestic flights, raising the total number of seats available for the Tet holiday travel season to 2.64 million. The first day of the long Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday is February 10. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, local airlines are set to operate around 33,800 flights during Tet, a 14% increase over the same period last year. Domestic flights are expected to amount to 24,200, up by 2% year-on-year, while international flights are estimated to soar by 60% compared to the previous year to 9,600. As of January 12, flights on some routes such as Thanh Hoa-HCMC and Chu Lai-HCMC had been 100% booked.
