Lao premier to visit Vietnam this weekend

During his Vietnam visit, the Lao leader will co-chair the 46th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Inter-governmental Committee from January 6 to 7, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This visit follows the Vietnamese premier's trip to Laos in January of the previous year. The two leaders of Vietnam and Laos met with each other several times at multilateral events in 2023. The Lao prime minister’s selecting Vietnam as one of his first destinations in 2024 showed that Laos attaches much significance to its partnership with Vietnam. In related news, Chairperson of the Bulgarian National Assembly Rosen Dimitrov Zhelyazkov will visit Vietnam from January 5 to 9 at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Vuong Dinh Hue.
