HCMC – Indonesian President Joko Widodo has visited VinFast’s factory and pledged to facilitate Vietnamese automaker’s investment in Indonesia. The field trip to Vinfast’s EV manufacturing complex in the northern port city of Haiphong was made yesterday, January 13, as part of the Indonesian President’s State visit to Vietnam. Apart from distributing car models, VinFast is planning to invest US$200 million to develop an EV manufacturing factory in Indonesia, with a capacity of producing 30,000 to 50,000 cars annually. Following the tour of the VinFast factory, the Indonesian President departed for his home country, marking the conclusion of his visit to Vietnam. Prior to the tour around the factory, President Joko Widodo and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held discussions with enterprises engaged in collaborative manufacturing and business ventures in both nations, including VinFast and GSM.
