DANANG – Hoi An City in the central province of Quang Nam has installed a camera system along some popular streets and areas to improve tourism management and support flood monitoring activities. The camera system has helped local authorities in managing tourist arrivals and responding more promptly to flooding incidents, notably during the rainy season. This number triples on weekends, which makes it difficult for the city to manage tourism activities, she added. The cameras, installed on streets such as Bach Dang, Nguyen Thai Hoc, and Cong Nu Ngoc Hoa, and a data system cost VND700 million. The plan is part of local authorities’ efforts in making Hoi An a smart city, featuring its rich traditional values and cultural heritages.
