Ho Chi Minh City police bust prostitution ring involving beauty queens, actresses, models, students

Police in Ho Chi Minh City have arrested two 22-year-old women on suspicion of running a prostitution brokerage racket involving beauty queens, models, students, and actresses who sold sex for VND14-50 million (US$577-2,060) per meetup. A representative of the municipal police department said on Sunday that Ho Thi Hanh and Dau Thi Lien had been taken into custody for their alleged role in managing the ring. The four prostitutes admitted that Hanh and Lien were the intermediaries for their sexual transactions. At the police station, Hanh and Lien confessed that they had contacted many young women, mainly ‘hot girls,' beauty queens, actresses, and models, and then sent photos of the girls and newspaper articles about them to potential customers. They also made themselves available to clients for a fee ranging from VND25 million ($1,027) to VND50 million ($2,054) per encounter.
