Ho Chi Minh City doctors save girl with hand brake piercing eye socket, skull base

A nine-year-old girl whose left eye socket and skull were punctured by a bicycle hand brake has been successfully treated by doctors at the Ho Chi Minh City Children’s Hospital and the Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital. V. was taken to the Ho Chi Minh City Children’s Hospital 30 minutes after a bicycle hand brake pierced directly through her left eye socket, causing bleeding. Then, doctors of the eye hospital opened her eye socket to remove the foreign object, 25cm long, from the orbit.
