Fuel prices rise for sixth consecutive time

HCMC – Domestic gasoline prices rose further from 3 p.m. today, September 5, marking the sixth consecutive hike, according to an announcement jointly released by the ministries of Industry-Trade and Finance. The widely used RON 95-III gasoline now stands at VND24,870 per liter, rising by VND270. On the other hand, heavy fuel oil is now set at VND17,700 per kilogram, a decrease of VND280. In the midst of these changes, no surcharges are applied to any fuel products, and local fuel retailers are not allowed to tap the fuel price stabilization fund. Statistics from the Ministry of Finance show that, as of July, the fuel price stabilization fund exhibited a surplus exceeding VND7.4 trillion.
