Firm unlawfully opens path through forest at national tourist site in Da Lat

The People’s Committee of Lam Dong Province in Vietnam's Central Highlands region on Wednesday asked the administration of Da Lat City, a famous tourist destination, along with relevant agencies to impose sanctions on Viet Land - Da Lat Company for illegal road construction in the national tourist site at Tuyen Lam Lake. The 750-meter-long path runs through a pine forest to a campsite. The road is three to five meters wide, according to the management board of the Tuyen Lam Lake national tourist site. The unlawful construction has affected the growth of pine trees and buried bushes, said the management board. The board underlined that the construction caused serious consequences on landscape protection and management at the site.
