Exports of processed fruits, veggies rise strongly

These processed products constituted 21% of the total exports of fruits and vegetables, according to the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetables Association (Vinafruit). Key international markets for these exports include the United States, the European Union, Japan, and South Korea. China has recently eased trade regulations to allow the import of processed and frozen fruits, in addition to fresh fruits, which has significantly boosted Vietnam’s exports in this category to its neighboring country. Various processed products such as mangoes, passion fruits, almonds, and pistachios have seen substantial growth, ranging from 22% to 60% compared to 2022. Despite this growth, processed products still represent a relatively small portion of the annual harvest output, accounting for 4.5 million tons or 14%.
