Australia supports Vietnam’s climate change adaptation

HCMC – Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs Penny Wong has announced AU$94.5 million in financial assistance for Vietnam to adapt to of climate change in the Mekong Delta. The plan was unveiled at the Vietnam Australia Forum held in Hanoi on August 22 as part of Minister Wong’s official visit to Vietnam from August 21 to 24. She said Australia wanted to work with Vietnam to tackle challenges that both nations cannot manage individually. Meanwhile, Thang highlighted that bilateral relations between Vietnam and Australia have solidified over the past 50 years. He expressed hope that the forum would provide a platform for officials and experts from both countries to discuss solutions to strengthen regional cooperation and enhance Vietnam-Australia ties.
