8-year-old boy recovers from over 60 wasp stings in southern Vietnam

The Soc Trang Hospital for Women and Children in the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang rescued an eight-year-old boy who suffered more than 60 wasp stings, a doctor at the hospital said on Tuesday. Dr. Chung Tan Dinh, director at the hospital, said that the boy was hospitalized in critical condition with over 60 wasp stings on his body, swollen lips, and shortness of breath. Some 20 bee stings are enough to cause death, Dr. Dinh said, noting that the boy was saved promptly. The patient was identified as S.L.B.D., who lives in Thuan Hung Commune in My Tu District under Soc Trang Province, southern Vietnam.
