12th grader fined for driving motorbike with one leg in northern Vietnam

An 18-year-old student in Phu Tho Province in northern Vietnam had his motorbike seized and was fined VND7.5 million ($303.8) for letting go of both hands and using his leg to control the motorbike, the provincial police said on Monday. Provincial traffic police officers had received reports of a young man driving a motorbike with one leg on a road in Thanh Ba District. They later coordinated with police in Thanh Ba District to seek the youngster and found Tran Dang K., a resident in Thanh Ba District and a 12th grader of the Vocational and Continuing Education Center in Phu Tho Town of the namesake province. In Vietnam, people aged 18 years or older may drive motorcycles, three-wheeled motor vehicles with a cylinder capacity of 50 cubic centimeters and above.
