What you'll be doing

• Primary responsibility of this role is to lead the QA team in test automation strategy development, planning and execution of the test processes. • The Automation lead is a hands-on Testing/QA role using Selenium Grid • Experience in handling distributed teams and work closely with the customer to understand the priorities and create the testing plans • Establish and ensure adherence to standards for Test Plan, Test Strategy, Test Design, Test Execution, User Acceptance Testing and Defects Management processes for Onshore and Offshore teams • Collaborate with Client for staffing new automation development requirements and mitigating any automation risks • Lead daily sync ups with Onshore / Offshore team members for any project / process / people issues and resolve impediments on time • Key activities include automating test execution and evaluating results. • Working with an Agile development team as a primary contributor to development, integration, and deployment of automated system tests, ensuring quality, reliability, usability, and performance of new features. • Participating in agile best practices and ceremonies, including use case development, story writing, grooming, and story pointing daily stand-ups, demos and retrospectives. • Selenium Grid is the core skill.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and implement automation test processes, strategies, and approaches for complex test requirements • Define test assessment strategies for project requirements. • Hands on Experience in designing various Automation Framework • Lead and mentor a team of 2-3 automation engineers; Responsible for their productivity. • Facilitate automated testing, regression testing, UI, and API testing for all new features for desktop application, browser, and mobile testing environments • Participate in defect analysis to understand issues and potential root cause and implement action plans to address larger issues, ensuring they don't repeat • Execute test cases in the automated environment • Participate in the creation of effective, reusable test scripts • Execute tests per the plan and perform analysis of test results, including preparing reports • Debug complex test code • Take direction on process improvements in the procedures and methodologies for automated testing • Review output to determine if the test results fulfill the established requirements and, if necessary, notify the responsible programmers of errors, omissions, and inconsistencies in the programs and/or documentation • Attend test procedure walk-throughs • Maintain documentation of test scripts • Validate program logic and verify system flow within the test code • Learn and implement new testing procedures and advanced tools • Ensure software quality assurance follow standard operating procedure

What You Bring To The Team- Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field. • 8+ years of Application Testing experience • Experience in preparing Test Planning, Test Strategy, Effort Estimation, Defect Management, Metrics, Test Automation Plan • Knowledge and understanding of GUI designs, load or stress testing, Designing test suites using various kinds of automation tools, including Selenium Grid (Critical Skill) and Zephyr, LoadRunner and jmeter • knowledge of development including coding, basic SQL knowledge to extract data for tests, XML, general web development skills, and web services • Advanced understanding of technology (i.e. OS layer, database layer, application layer, network, etc.) • Understanding of Agile testing methodologies, DevOps • Knowledge of how functions will work differently on different browsers and devices • Ability to both take direction and work independently in owning projects • Great verbal and written communication skills • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule

As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is:

$82k-$117k + Bonus+ Benefits

The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Vantara's bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
